Welcome
On behalf of Governors, Staff and Children, we are delighted to welcome you to Toddington St. George Church of England School.
We hope you find the information on our website useful and that it gives you a full flavour for the ambitious, caring and nurturing approach we have at Toddington St George, ensuring all pupils can reach their full potential.
Through our Christian values, we aim to provide an inclusive learning environment in which every child can “let their light shine”. Our school motto is from the Gospel of St Matthew (5:15-16), and underpins all that we do.
Toddington St. George is a safe and happy school, but fundamentally a community school. There is a real sense of this pride across the whole school, from pupils, parents, governors, and other local stakeholders. Our pupils enjoy being at the heart of the community, representing our school, taking part in local events and religious festivities, and enjoying very close links with the parish of St George’s.
We value and foster the close relationships between school, parents and carers – this is integral to our approach of being an inclusive school and providing opportunities for pupils to flourish through strong home-school connections, and a thorough understanding of individual pupils needs. We are privileged to host an Hearing Inclusion (HI) provision on-site, overseen by a Teacher of the Deaf and a team of Educational Communicators.
Being an aspiring, forward thinking school, we continue to build upon our pupils’ curriculum experiences and wider opportunities through inspiring trips and visits, engaging topics, themed events and weeks, and enrichment activities through clubs and sport.
As an Outdoor Play and Learning School (OPAL), we actively encourage pupils to socialise and play outdoors in most weathers, where permissible. We also encourage opportunities for team building, resilience and well-being through our Commando Joe’s offer, a DfE approved programme, supporting character development, as well as social emotional mental health.
Our wraparound care offer for parents and pupils provides opportunities for Breakfast and After- school clubs, facilitated by Premier Education, and running from 7:30 – 8:50am and from 3:15 - 6pm, Monday to Friday.
We hope you find everything you need on our website, and should you have any further questions or would like to come and visit the school, please do not hesitate to contact our admin team, you will be warmly welcomed.
Best wishes,
Mr Andrew Darlington (NPQH)
Head Teacher
